Stardust

This is a poem I wrote last night. I was thinking about leaving old friends behind and beginning anew. It's about art, music, peace, love and happiness...and maybe a little wistfulness for things left unsaid and undone.

Live without regrets. This all does end. But like all life, we begin again.

Namaste!

I remember the painting,

Cigarette in hand,

The damage done.

It came suddenly -

The heartstopping,

Breathtaking,

Slump over a creation

Meant to be a mirror.

Then, I was little again.

Fingerbreaking,

Screaming,

Intoxicating fuel -

Bleeding into a new life.

Over the other side,

There is nothing more

Than a closed door.

For now, we are stardust,

On the other side of the sun,

Watching, waiting,

Wondering -

Do you know me anymore?

Do you know I'm here?

Can you hear me,

Or is it a brick wall?

In my dreams,

Always within my grasp,

I open the door, and

There you were, the whole time.

A connection of time,

Space, peace and love,

Perhaps someday,

We will meet again.

Yet, I still see the painting -

The eyes, the swirls,

The colors and the holes,

Melt into stardust.
