Damn! It's October now, and the leaves are changing into some pretty colors. And today, we are revealing the answers to #TriviaTuesday How many did you get right? Shout out in the comments!
Jesus Christ - The ultimate religious figure in the Christian world, Jesus was said to be a king, a redeemer and much more. If we kept to the religious texts, he was born of a virgin birth, spent his youth as an only child in Nazareth, and began his missionary work later in his life. He was later crucified in his early thirties, and rose from the dead three days later. The idea of preaching for the character of John Ronald came from this. While in the book Revolution, he denies this in an argument with his daughter, but his soul knew it was similar to the person he revered. Despite the character's death, he never resurrected.
Primogeniture - Ah, the old argument. The oldest son inherits everything, and the rest of the siblings were left to fend for themselves (mostly). The idea of primogeniture is often practiced in aristocratic circles, but it's also used amongst the lower classes, especially in the case of land. This carried over to the book series, Wrapped in the Rays of the Sun. It came between two sisters in Casting Shadows and The Circle is Broken. It was also a problem in Revolution, when John Ronald competed with his brothers and denied that any nephews would inherit his land.
Pacific Northwest, USA/Canada - This place looks magically. There are woods and then the open ocean. Sometimes, your last step on land would lead you to water. The beaches are unlike anything in the northeast too. This inspiration shaped the village of Tet, Cherls when writing From Across the Sea. The character of Victoria Ronald is often sneaking onto the beach from the woods, hiding amongst rocks and trees.
That's it, everyone! Next week, we will get back into #BehindTheScenes and what shaped my writing career from 2015-2020. #TriviaTuesday will return the week after. Namaste!
