Oh, my God, it's halfway through February already? AND it's Friday? Time for the #TuesdayTrivia answers then! How many did you get? Comment below!
Psychedelic Drugs - It could make a party interesting or it could make it the buzz killer. It could bring relief or a trip so funky that you swore it was REAL. Alcohol and drugs have mixed with parties as far as human memory goes. In Casting Shadows and The Circle is Broken, it was used by the Jastese, foreigners in the Klenard court. They used psychedelics for several reasons - cover, laughs or just for plain fun. But it caused enough commotion that even Nora commented about it, and used it as a cover herself.
King Henry VIII of England - Not-so-big spoiler: I love Tudors history. And I based King Gerald II of Klenard on this infamous King of England. Tyrant-like, much-married and stuck between several women (wives, lovers and daughters alike), the historical and fictional men shared several troubles in their reigns. When we meet King Gerald in Casting Shadows, he only had two daughters and was desperate for a son, something that happened to Henry VIII too. The cruelty, distance and abuse towards the girls is also documented between historical character and the fictional.
Tsar Paul I of Russia - While it was known how eccentric he was, Paul disproved himself to be a leader in Russia's interests. The son of Catherine the Great was not emperor of his kingdom for long either. In 1801, conspirators cornered him and killed him in his own rooms. The fictional King Edward of Klenard, son of Jayne and Charles of Lopet, shared the same fate. Disliked for his conservative policies and the continuation of the war, Edward soon found himself the target of assassins, led by his own son, much as the tsar did.
That's it, everyone! Namaste. Have a great weekend!
