It's Friday, and you know all know what that means! It's time for the answers to #TriviaTuesday How many did you get? Comment below!
The Pirates' Code - Pirates of the Caribbean caught my imagination as a teen. No, I did not write fan fiction for that particular storyline, but the idea of sailing the open seas with a random bunch of men and women was an escape from reality. Having a moral code made the idea even better. That was where the Articles of Agreement in From Across the Sea came from. Pirates often followed a general code of conduct, and each ship always had its own rules and an oath to their captain. Oddly enough, pirate codes held everyone accountable and split treasures equally.
Tsar Alexander III of Russia - Best known as the father of the last Russian emperor, Nicholas II, Alexander was known for his physical strength and his conservative policies. While known as a peacekeeper in his lifetime, he was privately known in his family as Sasha. This name was shared with this tsar and with the fictional Annette Sasha, the pirate queen. While the pair commanded presence and majesty in their own way, they also held a whole world in their hands. Not so soft after all, are they?
British Isles - Ahh, the hard history between the English, Scots, Irish and Welsh. No matter what side of the aisle you are on, they somehow intertwine together and sometimes mesh into a one-sided propaganda history about unity. The tension between England and the others was my inspiration for Klenard and Tommel, the two kingdoms in one land. One kingdom held all the cards and controlled the others. The rest of the lands did not get to control their lifestyles, culture, language, etc. This is briefly discussed in Casting Shadows and The Circle is Broken.
That's it, everyone. Namaste! Have a great weekend!
