Butterflies are Free to Fly

Writer: saraelliemackenzie82saraelliemackenzie82

"Somebody Saved My Life Tonight", Elton John

I never realized the passing

Hours, of evening showers, A slip noose hanging in my darkest dreams. I'm strangled by your haunted social scene. Just a pawn out-played by a dominating queen. It's four o'clock in the morning Dammit! Listen to me good! I'm sleeping with myself tonight. Saved in time, thank God

My music's still alive.

Someone saved my life tonight,

Sugar bear, you almost had

Your hooks in me, didn't you dear? You nearly had me roped and tied, Altar-bound, hypnotized, Sweet freedom whispered in my ear. You're a butterfly and butterflies

Are free to fly, fly away.

High away, bye-bye...

Sorry about the lyrics. I have had it stuck in my head all day. It made me think of what Elton John meant in the song and what it means to me. It also gives me pause to think about the holiday.

It is Valentine's Day. People always call it a lovers' holiday. But I never thought so. Anybody could love their other half any day. I want to remind everyone that you can love yourself, your fur babies and more. You don't need to have someone else to make yourself complete. YOU will complete YOU.

But hold onto that butterfly with your finger and let it go! Remember you've always had wings. Love will make the world go around. Pass it around and whisper a wish.

Rant and inspiration complete. I hope you all enjoy the post-holiday candy sale. I most certainly will look for some this weekend.

Some other news: Taylor Zimmet finished the audio book! I am reviewing it now. She is AMAZING so far. I will have it published soon. I do not think I'll be requesting any changes.

That's about it. Signing off for now. Good night...and good luck.
